My Blog
Hi All, Sew Nature is back! I took a year or so off to home school my daughter (she's now graduated!) and to build a mini-cabin in the woods of North Florida, near lots of Springs to swim, snorkel, and paddle on :)
I've also been increasing my skills and knowledge with Inktense pencils and practicing my hand embroidery. I've made several patterns to print on your home printer and then color with Inktense and embellish with embroidery (if you so wish), they will be coming out soon. In the meantime, have fun taking the new classes on Printing your photos onto Fabric and making Photo Landscape Quilts.

I've decided to give all Sew Natures' profits to the following charities: Nature Conservancy because I want to conserve nature, the Environmental Defense Fund because our environment needs defending, Florida Spring Institute because these Springs are beautiful and need to be protected and Native Plant Restoration projects because native plants provide for wildlife and many other benefits.

What I'm working on in the Studio:

Three fabric sheets that I printed at home, colored with Inktense and embellished with embroidery. Now I'm combining them into a wall quilt.

Clearwater Lake, a pattern I will be offering soon!

This is called peaceful landscape, colored with Inktense.

I'm working on my Monarch and Milkweed pattern, which will be used in the Inktense class I'll be offering soon!
Want to learn how to Print on Fabric?
Sew Nature has a new On-Demand Video class, watch anytime you want, hit pause as you need, and then keep going at your own pace. There are three videos, you can just learn the basics and what sheets to buy (Video 1). Or go a little further and see some demonstrations on how to treat the fabric yourself, and some blocks to make with your photographs. Keep going and learn how to make a landscape quilt with your own photo as center stage (video 3).
