Spring 2023

We just released Blanket Flower, a pattern that comes with machine embroidery files.  So, you can make the outline of the flower with a running stitch or satin stitch, on sale now for $5! Sew Nature created an activator specifically for Inktense pencils.  Using the scientific method and lots of testing we created an activator that is very washable and leaves the painted area soft! Want to learn Inktense in a live class?  Join us in May and help support the Monarch butterflies.

Introducing our Blanket flower pattern is this one outlined with a satin stitch, painted and hand embroidery was added alone with crystal bling. Make your own creation with this new and easy pattern.  You'll learn these techniques:

  • Color progression

  • Color Blending

  • Using Inktense pencils on fabric

We even have kits available which comes with our new activator!

Do you have milkweed in your yard?  Do you know what type it is and the best way to care for it to benefit the Monarchs?  I found this great article in the Palmetto from the Native Plant Society all about this.  Click here for the article Palmetto 38-4_Milkweed_Messec.pdf (fnps.org)

Workshops Reviews

I've had the chance to teach some classes in the last few months and have gotten some positive feed back!

"Laura is very knowledgeable and helpful to people trying to learn the techniques of fabric painting using the Inktense pencils. She has a lot of examples and is always willing to expand on a topic of interest. She is cheerful and encouraging at all times. Her students were able to finish the project within the time allotted for the class - something not common to all classes. She is flexible to the needs of her students; in fact,

when one student finished her iris picture, Laura additionally showed us how to create a wash for the background and apply it to the picture. Laura made it a fun class and we all felt like we had learned/accomplished something new in a very relaxed environment."

Culiece Nelson

"Laura, Thank you very much for instructing our SAIL class about Florida native plants, butterflies and our Wetlands. We then learned to paint nature on fabric adding embellishment with embroidery and crystals." Sharon Latimer
